In Singapore, a tragic incident occurred when a 14-year-old male student named Lu Huyen Trang collapsed while practicing to run a 2.4 km distance at his school and suffered a stroke, leading to his untimely death. Despite the devastating loss, Lu’s family decided to donate his organs to save the lives of three individuals in need.

Lu attended Woodlands High School and collapsed on May 2. He was immediately taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in a coma, where doctors fought to save his life for 24 days before he passed away on May 25. It was a sudden and unexpected event as Lu had no prior history of heart issues and had never shown signs of distress during physical activities.

Lu’s mother shared the heartbreaking experience of losing her son, emphasizing how rapidly their lives had changed. Despite her initial hesitation to donate his organs, she remembered Lu’s dream of helping others and ultimately decided to proceed with the donation to honor his wishes. The family was supported by friends and relatives during this difficult time, as they gathered to bid farewell to Lu at the hospital.

On May 26, it was announced that Lu’s organs, including his corneas, liver, kidneys, pancreas, and skin, were able to save the lives of at least three critically ill individuals. The decision to donate his organs not only honored Lu’s memory but also brought hope and healing to those in need of transplants.
