‘Sarah Becker, star of ‘The Real World’, tragically passes away from suicide’

Sarah Becker, a reality TV personality known for her work on “The Real World: Miami,” tragically died by suicide last week at her home in Illinois. The 56-year-old cast member had been struggling with mental health issues and was originally from California before moving to the Midwest to take care of her sick mother and sister.

Becker’s situation was exacerbated by a recent skateboarding accident. During her time on the fifth season of MTV’s “The Real World,” she was known for being a comic book enthusiast and worked at Wildstorm Productions. She also adopted a puppy during filming and described herself as feeling much younger than her age.

Following the news of her passing, several of Becker’s former castmates shared their condolences on social media, including Cynthia Roberts who posted a photo of Becker with the caption “RIP Roomy,” expressing her hope that Becker had found happiness beyond this life. Den Renzi reflected on the unique bond they shared from their time on the show.

Joe Patane, a licensed clinical social worker, acknowledged Becker’s dedication to helping others through therapy, emphasizing that suicide should never be a choice but hoped that Becker had found peace. Flora Alekseyeva remembered Becker as a kind and selfless person, expressing shock at the news of her passing and sending well-wishes to Becker in her afterlife.
