Amol Kale, Head of Mumbai Cricket Body, Passes Away in the USA While Attending India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup Match

Amol Kale, the President of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), tragically passed away in the USA due to a cardiac arrest. He was in New York at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, watching the India vs Pakistan match with other MCA office bearers on Sunday night.

Amol Kale was known for being a close aide of Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and had defeated former India and Mumbai cricketer Sandip Patil in the elections to become the MCA President in October 2022. During his 19-month tenure as President, he made significant decisions, such as matching the BCCI’s match fee for all red-ball players for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Despite hailing from Nagpur, he was settled in Mumbai for over a decade and was actively involved in various businesses.

Kale, who held a BE in Electrical Engineering from Nagpur University, was also the Founder and CEO of J K Solutions Private Limited and Arpita Enterprises. Under his leadership, MCA organized several international matches at the Wankhede Stadium, including the India vs New Zealand Test and the 2023 World Cup matches. His decision to grant Mumbai cricketers the same match fee as offered by the BCCI was widely praised.

MCA sources are still awaiting more details from the office bearers who were with him in New York when he passed away. Amol Kale will be deeply missed by many cricket enthusiasts and business community members who knew him well.
