A young girl lost her life in a fiery crash on Business 80 in Sacramento County early on Thursday afternoon. The tragic incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near Watt Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol.
Emergency responders from Metro Fire of Sacramento rushed to the scene and transported the young girl to the hospital in critical condition. However, tragically, the girl succumbed to her injuries later that night. Authorities confirmed that the victim was under 10 years old but did not release any further details about her identity.
The vehicle involved in the crash veered off the road for unknown reasons and collided with a pole before catching fire and becoming engulfed in flames. No information is available regarding injuries sustained by the driver of the vehicle, who is said to be a man in his 30s.
The crash caused a significant traffic backup on Business 80, also known as State Route 51, as authorities worked to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
