Critical condition of 3-year-old boy found in closed vehicle in Ashdod

On Saturday, a three-year-old boy was discovered inside a closed vehicle in Ashdod. He had been left there for several hours and was rushed to Asuta Hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, the hospital later announced that they were unable to save him. The police have opened an investigation into the incident.

According to Before Child Safety, 42 children have died as a result of being forgotten or trapped in cars between 2013 and 2023, with four deaths occurring last year. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles. At 16:56, MDA received a report about a child who had been trapped inside a closed vehicle for several hours in Ashdod. MDA teams provided medical treatment and transported the child to the hospital in critical condition. The police had started searching for the boy around 3:00 p.m. after receiving a report that he had been missing since noon in the 7th district of Ashdod. When police officers located the child locked in a parked car, they broke into the vehicle to rescue him. The child was unconscious and suffering from heat stroke.

MDA paramedic Yoel Kahn described the scene, stating that they found a 3-year-old boy unconscious in the back seat of a private vehicle with signs of heat stroke. With the help of police officers, they removed him from the car, transferred him to an intensive care vehicle, and rushed him to the hospital in critical condition. Doctors at the hospital were fighting to save his life.

The tragic incident highlights how important it is for parents and caregivers to be aware of their surroundings when driving with children present.
