Trade Talks: Eagles and Jets Agree to Swap Haason Reddick for Third-Round Conditional Pick

Jets acquire edge rusher Hasson Reddick in trade with Eagles

The Eagles and the Jets have reached an agreement to trade Haason Reddick for a conditional third-round pick. It was reported on Friday by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Reddick’s roster bonus, worth $1 million, has been postponed until April 1 in order to give the team more time to find a trade partner. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, the Jets are expected to extend Reddick’s contract as part of the deal.

The Eagles were able to afford trading Reddick after signing former Jets edge rusher Bryce Huff during free agency. Reddick, who is 29 years old, had started every game for the Eagles during his two seasons with the team and had accumulated 27 sacks along with making two Pro Bowls. He previously spent four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and one season with the Carolina Panthers before joining the Eagles.

Reddick is in the final year of his current deal with the Eagles and will be responsible for paying his own compensation for the next season. The Jets will take on $14.5 million of Reddick’s compensation for 2024, which is his final year under contract with Philadelphia. If certain conditions are met, this could potentially turn into a second-round pick instead of a third-round pick.
