The new behavioral health center at the Medical University of South Carolina in downtown Florence is nearing completion, with leaders holding a topping-out ceremony for the Jean and Hugh K. Leatherman Behavioral Care Pavilion. This ceremony marks the finishing of the building’s structure and will feature speeches from Gov. Henry McMaster, Florence Mayor Teresa Ervin, and other health officials. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sign the final steel beam for the facility.

MUSC expects the center to open in October 2025 at their Cedar Tower campus on East Cedar Street in downtown Florence.
