Top Recruit Douglas Utu Takes an Official Visit to Michigan Football this Weekend: An In-Depth Look into his Recruitment Process

Five-star offensive lineman places Michigan football in top group

This weekend, Michigan football is set to host a series of important visits from official recruits. Among the standout recruits visiting is five-star interior offensive lineman Douglas Utu from Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. Utu, who has been highly ranked by ESPN and Rivals as the No. 11 and No. 8 player in the country respectively, is joined by his high school teammate and fellow five-star recruit, wide receiver Derek Meadows.

During his official visit, Utu announced that Michigan was among his top six choices, along with Washington, Nebraska, Alabama, Oregon, and Tennessee. While it’s believed that Michigan and Washington are the top contenders for Utu, he still has visits scheduled with Alabama and other schools. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan currently has a 31.2% chance of landing Utu. However, there is still a long way to go in the recruitment process as Utu has not made a final decision yet. The Wolverines remain a strong contender for his commitment though. Keep an eye out for updates as Utu continues his recruitment process.
