Top Performers of Upstate High School Girls: A Review of Their Impressive Achievements

Cast your vote for the Upstate’s top female athlete of the week

The finalists for Upstate high school girls athlete of the week from April 22-28 have been announced. The finalists include Autumn Burrell from Hillcrest, Nia Glover from Spartanburg, Meg Griffin from Belton-Honea Path, Sydney Price from Landrum, Addison Sharp from T.L. Hanna, Madison Stanley from Wren, and A’Kyra Webster from Spartanburg. Polls will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and multiple votes are allowed.

Autumn Burrell from Hillcrest won the 100 meters (12.65) and the 200 meters (25.05) at the Greenville County track and field championships. Nia Glover from Spartanburg broke a two-decades-old Spartanburg County championship record in the 400 meters with a time of 56.74.

Meg Griffin from Belton-Honea Path went 7-for-7 in two softball games with a home run and five steals.

Sydney Price from Landrum was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs while also pitching a complete game in a 3-2 softball win against Blacksburg.

Addison Sharp from T.L. Hanna pitched two shutouts in softball with 22 strikeouts as the Yellow Jackets beat Dorman and Westside, both 3-0.

Madison Stanley from Wren scored all four goals in a 4-2 soccer win against Fountain Inn.

A’Kyra Webster from Spartanburg won the 100 meters (12.58) and the 200 meters (24.98) at the Spartanburg County championships.
