As spring sports season has come to an end, it’s time to reflect on the standout boys athletes from the Louisville area during the 2024 season. We have highlighted the top five athletes from various counties including Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer below. Starting June 26th, readers will have the opportunity to cast their vote for Player of the Year using an online poll.
Kaine Samuels from Ballard excelled in baseball as a junior pitcher/first baseman. He finished the season with a 9-1 record, one save, a 1.75 ERA, and 78 strikeouts in 67 ⅓ innings. Samuels also batted .439 with five home runs, 11 doubles, 36 RBIs, and 30 runs scored. He has committed to Western Kentucky University and was named Seventh Region Player of the Year and first-team All-State.
Brayden Bruner from Pleasure Ridge Park made a significant impact as a junior center fielder. He batted .400 with four home runs, nine doubles, nine triples, 46 RBIs
