Together for Mental Wellness: GRAND Mental Health and YMCA of Greater Tulsa Partner to Provide Support to Kids and Families

YMCA Provides Grand Mental Health Support for Tulsa Families

In the Tulsa area, two local organizations, GRAND Mental Health and the YMCA of Greater Tulsa, have joined forces to provide mental health support to kids and families. This partnership was sparked when Jeff Harlin, CAO of GRAND Mental Health, learned that some YMCA locations had individuals dealing with crisis or mental health issues.

Now, GRAND and the YMCA are working together to address these crisis issues in the community. They will offer mental health support at various YMCA locations across Tulsa. This includes virtual behavioral health crisis services and on-site behavioral health assistance at YMCA summer camps.

Kyle Wilkes, Chief Development Officer for YMCA of Greater Tulsa, expressed excitement about this partnership and emphasized the importance of having a partner embedded within their programs to achieve better outcomes. He stated that addressing mental health needs is just as vital as addressing physical health. With summer camps approaching at the YMCA, GRAND Mental Health will be present within the camps to provide assistance to children whenever needed. Additionally, free walk-in mental screens will be available at five Tulsa area YMCA locations for kids and families alike.
