Ting: Westfield’s Revolutionary Smart Home Technology Combats Home Electrical Fires

Westfield introduces Ting smart home technology to prevent electrical fires

Westfield, a renowned property and casualty company in the US, has recently launched a groundbreaking program aimed at preventing home electrical fires. Dubbed Ting, the program harnesses the power of smart plug-in sensors to monitor a home’s electrical system, detect potential hazards, alert homeowners, and guide them through necessary repairs to prevent catastrophes.

In collaboration with Whisker Labs, Westfield is offering Ting sensors and three years of fire prevention services to its customers for free. This initiative underscores Westfield’s commitment to ensuring their clients’ peace of mind by providing advanced warnings to prevent potential home fires.

Ting is an advanced smart home technology that provides early alerts to mitigate fire hazards before they become disastrous. It also detects faults in the utility grid that may cause damage to homes and potentially contribute to wildfires in high-risk areas. Furthermore, Ting can predict issues that may lead to water damage inside a home.

Westfield plans to distribute the fire hazard sensor and service to 10,000 homeowners this year at no cost, with a goal of reaching over 20,000 more homeowners in the next three years. This new technology aligns with Westfield’s mission of providing insurance products and solutions that protect their customers and communities for over 176 years.
