TikTok Introduces New AI Labeling Measures to Combat Misinformation and Promote Transparency

As Technology Advances, TikTok Begins Identifying AI-Generated Content

In a bid to promote transparency and help users make informed decisions, TikTok has announced that it will now be labeling content created using artificial intelligence when it is uploaded from specific platforms. The announcement was made by Adam Presser, TikTok’s Head of Operations & Trust and Safety, on ABC’s “Good Morning America”.

Presser explained that while TikTok’s users and creators are excited about the possibilities AI offers for creativity and connecting with audiences, there is a need to differentiate between fact and fiction. To achieve this, TikTok has previously encouraged users to label content that has been generated or significantly edited by AI. Users are also required to label all AI-generated content that contains realistic images, audio, and video.

With these new labeling measures in place, TikTok hopes to prevent the spread of misinformation on its social media platform. This move reflects the platform’s commitment to combating misinformation and ensuring a positive user experience for its community.
