Lilia Vu emerged victorious in the LPGA Meijer Classic in Michigan on Sunday after a thrilling sudden-death playoff with Lexi Thompson and Grace Kim. Vu, a two-time major champion, finished with a 16-under-par aggregate of 272 after her impressive final round at Blythefield Country Club.
The three women all birdied the first two playoff holes before going to the par-five fourth where Vu kept her nerve to secure her fifth LPGA title. Kim struggled in the final round with early bogeys, but managed to force her way into the playoff with a crucial birdie on the 18th hole.
