Thrilling Irish 2,000 Guineas Race: Rosallion Defeats Haatem by a Head over Favored Notable Speech

Rosallion secures Irish 2,000 Guineas victory with a commanding charge

Rosallion secured a thrilling victory over stablemate Haatem in the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh, beating his rival by a head. Trained by Richard Hannon, the colt had finished second in the Newmarket 2,000 Guineas earlier in May.

Despite being favored at 10-11, Rosallion displayed a quick turn of foot to clinch victory in the one-mile race. Notable Speech, trained by Charlie Appleby, had caused an upset by winning the Newmarket race.

Haatem looked strong under Jamie Spencer in the closing stages of the race but Rosallion’s impressive performance secured him the win. Owned by Sheikh Mohammed, River Tiber finished third behind the top two colts. The thrilling finish showcased the talent and competitiveness of the three-year-old colts in the race.
