The Youngest Graduate of Malverne High School: Meet Suborno Bari

12-year-old prodigy on track for college plans to make math and science more understandable

Malverne High School has had many talented students throughout its history, but none have achieved as much as Suborno Bari. At just 12 years old, Bari became the youngest graduate in the school’s history, thanks to his exceptional understanding of physics.

Bari’s passion for physics goes beyond just understanding it. He finds visualizations, graphs, and diagrams in the subject fascinating and enjoys explaining the underlying messages to others. This passion has led him to publish his first book at the age of seven and even lecture a college class in India.

Despite his young age, Bari is not only an accomplished author but also a natural teacher. He generously takes the time to tutor his older classmates, demonstrating his unique talent for sharing knowledge with others. His exceptional abilities have not gone unnoticed, with former President Barack Obama recognizing Bari’s intellectual gift at a young age.

Bari’s family was surprised by this unexpected acknowledgment but had noticed his unique abilities early on. His mother, Shaheda Bari, recalls how he always stood out as being different from other children. As he continues to pursue his passion for math and physics at NYU on a full scholarship, Bari plans to earn his Bachelor’s degree at 14 and a Doctorate at age 18. These accomplishments will undoubtedly help him achieve his goal of becoming a professor and helping people worldwide understand math and science.
