The World Games 2025: A Global Effort to Create Unity and Prosperity through Creative Design

Introducing the fresh logo for The World Games of 2025 in Chengdu, China!

The Chengdu 2025 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has recently unveiled the new logo for the 12th edition of The World Games. In December 2023, the LOC launched an international contest, inviting designers from around the world to submit their ideas for the logo, mascot, and slogan of The World Games 2025. Submissions were accepted until February 2024, with a total of 9,235 entries received from both national and international applicants. This demonstrates the global creativity in shaping the visual identity of the International World Games Association (IWGA) flagship event.

The winning design for the Chengdu 2025 logo was announced on May 17, 2024. The unveiling of the Chengdu 2025 mascot and slogan is scheduled to take place at the ‘One Year to Go’ event in August 2024. The logo draws inspiration from iconic Chinese symbols such as the giant panda, hibiscus flower, and Chinese knot. It reflects the history and culture of Chengdu as the host city, as well as Sichuan Province. The Chinese knot in the center symbolizes unity, prosperity, and luck, highlighting the importance of unity and embodying the core values of The World Games.

The design of the logo seamlessly integrates these elements into The World Games’ visual identity. The color scheme is balanced and harmonious, utilizing cool colors vertically and warm colors horizontally to create a sense of depth and coordination among five colors: red, yellow, green, black, and white. With just under one year left until The World Games 20
