The Uncertainty Surrounding Five-Star Rusher Isaiah Gibson’s Future: A Closer Look at His Commitment to USC and Rumors of Flipping to Georgia

Highly rated EDGE rusher and top target for UGA decommits from USC

Five-star EDGE rusher Isaiah Gibson, originally from Warner Robins, Georgia, had previously committed to Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans. However, reports from On3 suggest that he has decided to retract his decision and may be exploring other options. Gibson is 6-foot-4, 245 pounds and had an impressive season at Warner Robins High School with a team-leading 17 sacks and 55 tackles-for-loss. He is considered one of the top EDGE rushers in the class of 2025.

There have been rumors that Gibson may flip his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs. He posted a photo on X a few weeks ago wearing Bulldogs uniforms with fellow five-star recruit and former Georgia commit Justus Terry, who is currently committed to USC. Steve Wiltfong of On3 changed his recruiting projection for Gibson to Georgia while he was still committed to USC, adding to the speculation. Josh Pate of 247Sports also made comments suggesting that Gibson and Terry may not stay committed to USC, and that Georgia typically has success recruiting in-state defensive talents.

Before committing to USC, Gibson had also been considering Oregon and Oklahoma. Despite his commitment to the Trojans, it seems he may be reconsidering his options and exploring opportunities with other programs. This decision adds intrigue and uncertainty to Gibson’s recruitment process as he navigates the complexities of college football recruiting.
