The Tragic Consequences of Israel’s Gaza Offensive: 35,857 Deaths and Counting

As a result of the Israeli Army’s offensive in response to Hamas attacks, 35,857 people have died and 80,293 have been injured. These figures are subject to change as there are still victims trapped under rubble and bodies that emergency teams cannot access due to the blockade imposed by Israeli troops. In the last day alone, 57 people have died and 93 have been injured, with six Palestinian families being massacred.

The Israeli Army has been operating in Jabalia refugee camp since May 11th, eliminating dozens of terrorists and destroying tunnels and other infrastructure. The IDF also destroyed ammunition warehouses, tunnels, and other infrastructure in Rafah near the border with Egypt as part of their ongoing offensive launched on May 6th.

The crisis in Gaza has deepened after Israel took control of the border crossing following Hamas’ acceptance of an agreement proposal on May 5th. This move suspended entry of humanitarian aid into the enclave. The decision has raised international alarms and exacerbated an already dire situation for the residents of Gaza.
