Architectural Digest recently released a list of the 17 best skylines in the world, showcasing cities from all around the globe for their unique blend of architectural and natural beauty. Chicago was praised as the third-best skyline in the world, with its impressive skyscrapers along Lake Michigan standing out.
However, Architectural Digest also recognized that other cities in the Midwest have similar characteristics on a smaller scale. Milwaukee, Wisconsin was ranked as the 15th-best skyline in the world, thanks to its notable presence along Lake Michigan and iconic Milwaukee Art Museum.
In addition to Chicago and Milwaukee, American cities Manhattan and Seattle also made it onto the list, ranking first and fourteenth respectively. The ranking criteria included questions about what makes a beautiful skyline – whether it is recognizable, harmonious or has individually striking buildings. According to Architectural Digest, it is a combination of all these factors that make a skyline truly beautiful.
