The Thrilling Spring High School Sports Season: A Closer Look at the Standout Teams

The spring high school sports season has been nothing short of thrilling, and it’s time to take a closer look at the standout teams from last week. Some of the most impressive performances came from Demarest boys track and field, Glen Rock baseball, Pompton Lakes girls lacrosse, Ramsey girls track and field, Ridgefield Park softball, Tenafly boys lacrosse, Wallington softball, and Wayne Valley baseball.

Let’s start with Demarest boys track and field, who had a remarkable showing at Saturday’s Bergen County Jack Yockers Relays. They won four events and placed second in two others, cementing their place as one of the top teams in the area. Next up is Glen Rock baseball, who went 3-0 last week and outscored opponents 45-12. Their record now stands at 7-0-1, making them a force to be reckoned with on the diamond.

Pompton Lakes girls lacrosse also had an impressive week, winning three road games and achieving a 5-1 record for the first time in program history. Ramsey girls track and field dominated in every relay event in Group C at the Bergen County Jack Yockers Relays, further solidifying their position as one of the top teams in their division.

Ridgefield Park softball had a perfect 4-0 week last week, including a notable 5-1 victory over Indian Hills. Tenafly boys lacrosse rebounded from losses with three straight wins last week, outscoring opponents 44-11. Wallington softball finished off the week with a perfect 4-0 record after handing Emerson its second loss of the season. Finally
