The Sonoma-Marin County Fair Hosts the World’s Ugliest Dog Competition, Crowned Wild Thang the Winner

Wild Thang wins the 2024 ‘World’s Ugliest Dog’ title at Sonoma-Marin Fair in North Bay

In Petaluma, California, on June 21st, 2024, the World’s Ugliest Dog competition was held at the Sonoma-Marin County Fair. The winner of this year’s contest was Wild Thang, an 8-year-old Pekingese. This was the fourth time that Wild Thang had competed in the event and it finally earned him the first place title after coming in second three times before.

Rome, a 14-year-old pug owned by Michelle Grady, won the People’s Choice award. Rome is known for being very personable and a favorite among many. The competition had a total of eight participants this year and the winner received a trophy as well as a cash prize of $5,000.

The event attracted many people who came to see these unique dogs and vote for their favorite. It was a fun and entertaining event that showcased some of the world’s ugliest but most lovable dogs.
