The Schroeder Family Exploreum: A New Name for Joplin’s Science Center

New Name Unveiled for Future Science Center in Joplin | KSNF/KODE

The Creative Learning Alliance is thrilled to announce the new science center in Joplin will now be known as the Schroeder Family Exploreum. This official name was unveiled during a ceremony on Friday morning. The center will be housed in the old Joplin Library building.

The naming rights for the facility were made possible by a generous one-million dollar donation from local developer Rick Schroeder. From a list of 64 potential names, the Schroeder Family Exploreum was selected as the final choice by the nonprofit’s board of directors.

Audie Dennis, President of the Creative Learning Alliance Board, expressed his gratitude to the Schroeder family and others in the community for their support in making this day possible. The organization has set a fundraising goal of $6.5 million, with $1.7 million already pledged towards it. The hope is to open the Schroeder Family Exploreum in 2025.
