Dozens of Cars and Businesses Vandalized in Long Beach – NBC Los Angeles

In Long Beach, a man was arrested for vandalizing cars and shops in the East Village area. According to the Long Beach Police Department, over 25 cars and seven businesses were damaged in this incident. The damage occurred on a Friday morning, with officers responding to reports of smashed windows in both cars and businesses.

The cars with broken windows were all parked in a nearby parking structure near a Chase bank. A building manager stated that a surveillance camera from an apartment complex captured footage of the vandal damaging the property. This incident was not an isolated occurrence, as the manager explained that similar events have been happening for the past three years.

Another building manager, Joe Harding, shared his concerns about the increase in vandalism in the area. He said that broken windows and businesses closing down for the night have become commonplace in Long Beach. People in the neighborhood are constantly worried about becoming victims of vandalism and often check for any possible security footage to assist with insurance claims.

The Long Beach Police Department confirmed that one person was arrested for the vandalism but did not provide further details about the suspect or charges they may be facing.
