Cast Your Vote for the Louisville-Area High School Player of the Week

This week, The Courier Journal has named its top five nominees for boys athlete of the week, each delivering exceptional performances in their respective sports. The poll is now open, and voting will close at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Colin Knoop from Fern Creek showcased his talent in baseball by tossing a one-hitter against South Oldham and striking out 13 batters in seven innings. Knoop led the Tigers to a 2-1 record for the week, with victories over South Oldham and Central.

Huck Campbell from Trinity made his mark in lacrosse by scoring six goals in the KSLL semifinal and championship game against St. Xavier and South Oldham. His performance led Trinity to its seventh state title and third KSLL title in program history. Campbell’s hat trick in the championship game earned him MVP honors.

Landon Olgine from Ballard contributed to his team’s success in baseball by tallying three hits, four RBIs, and a stolen base in a win against Atherton. The Bruins also defeated DeSales during the week.

Michael Raider from Kentucky Country Day played a key role in his team’s 2-1 record for the week by collecting three hits, six RBIs, and two stolen bases. KCD secured victories against Butler and Francis Parker.

Carter Vinson from Trinity showcased his speed in track and field by running the third-fastest 200 meters in Kentucky this year, clocking a personal best of 21.75 seconds at the Metro Meet of Champions.
