USA Secures Place in T20 World Cup 2026 as India and Sri Lanka Named Co-Hosts

The 2026 T20 World Cup is fast approaching, and teams are working hard to secure their spots in the tournament. Qualifying for the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 is crucial, as it guarantees direct qualification for the 2026 edition of the tournament. This means that teams who secure a spot in the top eight will not have to go through the regional qualifiers for the next T20 World Cup.

The next edition of the tournament will feature 20 teams, with 12 automatic qualifiers. This includes the two co-hosts, India and Sri Lanka, as well as the teams in the Super Eight in 2024 and the three highest-ranked teams outside of these on the ICC’s T20I rankings as of June 30, 2024. The remaining eight spots will be determined through the ICC’s regional qualifiers pathway.
