The Race for Lazar Samardzic: Fenerbahce, Lazio, and Juventus Clash for Talented Midfielder in €25m Bid

Lazio and Mourinho Fight for the Signing of Samardzic from Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce and Lazio, managed by Jose Mourinho, are both interested in signing Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic, who is valued at €25m. The Serbia international is currently participating in EURO 2024 with his national team in Germany. Last summer, Samardzic was close to a move to Inter for €15m plus Giovanni Fabbian, but the deal fell through due to last-minute contract changes requested by his agent.

In recent years, Samardzic has been a standout player for Udinese in Serie A. He was acquired from RB Leipzig for €3m in 2021 and has made significant contributions with six goals and two assists in 34 appearances this season. However, after the departures of Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson, Lazio is now considering making a move for the talented midfielder.

Mourinho, who recently joined Fenerbahce, has also expressed interest in signing Samardzic for his new team in Turkey. Juventus has also been linked with the player, adding another layer of competition for his signature. It remains to be seen which club will meet the asking price of €25m for the talented midfielder.
