Eagles selected as finalist for ESPN Sports Humanitarian of the Year award

The 2024 ESPYS are set to honor four teams for their outstanding contributions to society through sports. Among the nominees are Angel City Football Club, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Miami Heat.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been recognized for their organization’s Eagles Autism Foundation, which is led by Chairman and CEO Jeffery Lurie. The foundation’s mission is to fund research and raise awareness about autism worldwide.

Since its inception in 2018, the Eagles Autism Challenge has raised over $30 million through a cycling/running/walking 5K event. In 2024 alone, the event raised over $8.1 million, bringing the total to date to $30 million. The proceeds from the foundation have funded 116 autism research projects and community grants worldwide.

In addition to funding research, the Eagles Autism Foundation provides year-round support to individuals with autism and their families. This includes a sensory room at Lincoln Financial Field, a neurodiverse employment program, and programs for individuals of all abilities.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ commitment to supporting autism awareness and research has earned them a nomination for the prestigious Sports Humanitarian of the Year award, recognizing their exceptional contributions to society through sports.
