The Number 67: A Look at the Arizona Cardinals’ Offensive Lineman Austen Pleasants and His Legacy Following in the Footsteps of Justin Pugh

The Cardinals’ season opener against the Bills is just 67 days away

As the NFL offseason enters its midpoint and the start of the 2024 regular season draws nearer, we are eagerly anticipating the Arizona Cardinals’ first game. In just 67 days, they will kick off against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Week 1.

The current number 67 on the Cardinals roster is Austen Pleasants, an offensive lineman with limited experience in the NFL. Despite having only played in two career games and taking just 10 offensive snaps, Pleasants is determined to earn a spot on the team through hard work and dedication during practice. While he has yet to make a significant impact for the Cardinals, he remains a valuable asset to the team.

Pleasants follows in the footsteps of Justin Pugh, who wore number 67 for the Cardinals from 2018-2022. Pugh was an outstanding offensive lineman who excelled at right guard before moving to left guard, where he became one of the team’s most reliable and consistent players. He even filled in at right tackle when needed and started a total of 56 games during his time in Arizona.

After leaving the Cardinals, Pugh joined the New York Giants for 12 games last season. Throughout his career, Pugh displayed his versatility and skill on the offensive line, earning him accolades and recognition as one of the league’s top linemen.
