The New Color Scheme of the Utah Jazz: Purple and Sky Blue Mountain Designs Take the Forefront

Utah Jazz Unveil New ‘Mountain Basketball’ Uniform Design

The Utah Jazz are introducing a new color scheme to their uniforms, with purple, white, and sky blue mountain designs at the forefront. The franchise is transitioning away from the black and yellow scheme introduced two years ago in favor of purple as the primary color. Governor Ryan Smith expressed excitement for the new branding, emphasizing the importance of Mountain Basketball and the connection to the community.

The decision to focus on purple reflects the team’s identity and desire to align internally with fans and players. The new uniforms will feature a mountain scheme, with four different designs set to debut in the 2025-26 season. The transition will begin with the phase-out of black and yellow uniforms next season before culminating in full implementation of a purple-centric color palette by 2025-026.

During this period, fans can expect to see white and yellow jerseys worn by the Jazz during the 2024-25 season before being retired in December for a replacement with black jerseys featuring mountain designs in January. In addition, iconic Statement Edition jerseys will be replaced by purple Icon Edition jerseys featuring an updated J-note logo without wordmark underneath in 2025-026.
