The Helmet Catch: Giants Celebrate Their Best Moments in NFL History with Legends and Unforgettable Plays

‘Helmet catch’ named top play in Giants’ franchise history

The New York Giants recently celebrated their rich history as an NFL franchise with an event called “Giants 100: A Night With Legends” at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. During the event, the greatest play in the team’s history was revealed to be David Tyree’s “helmet catch” in Super Bowl XLII, beating out other memorable moments in Giants history.

The “helmet catch” will always be remembered as a classic moment in Giants history that helped lead the team to victory in the Super Bowl. Some of the other plays that were considered but did not win included Victor Cruz’s 99-yard touchdown catch against the Jets in 2011, Eli Manning’s pass to Mario Manningham in Super Bowl XLVI, and Odell Beckham Jr.’s one-handed touchdown catch on Sunday Night Football in 2014. However, Tyree’s incredible catch stood out as the top play in Giants history.

Tyree himself was present at the event and shared his thoughts on his catch being chosen as the team’s greatest play. Eli Manning, who threw the pass to Tyree, jokingly commented on the play as well. The event brought together legends from throughout Giants history and provided fans with a unique opportunity to hear their stories and insights into what made them some of the greatest players of all time.
