The Broncos Land Former UFL Champ Dondrea Tillman on a Three-Year Contract: What it Means for the Team’s Defense

Broncos set to add OLB Dondrea Tillman as new signing

The Denver Broncos recently signed free-agent outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman to a three-year deal that includes a $10,000 signing bonus. Tillman, 26, played for the Birmingham Stallions in the United Football League this past spring season and has been a part of the team for three consecutive seasons, during which they have won three championships in a row. Over the past three spring seasons, Tillman has accumulated 92 tackles and 8.5 sacks, with three sacks alone in 2024.

Prior to joining the Birmingham Stallions, Tillman had an impressive record of 26.5 sacks in his final three seasons at Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He will now be joining a group that includes other linebackers such as Jonathon Cooper, Baron Browning, Nik Bonitto, Jaylon Allen, Jonah Elliss, Thomas Incoom, Ronnie Perkins and Durell Nchami. Unfortunately, the Broncos will be missing Drew Sanders at the start of the season after he tore his Achilles early in the team’s offseason program.

The addition of Tillman to the roster means that the Broncos will need to make a corresponding move to accommodate him on their ongoing 90-player offseason roster.
