Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise is a target for Chelsea this summer, as reported by the Daily Mail. The Blues have been monitoring him for some time and had tried to sign him last year but he chose to remain with Palace and extend his contract. Despite their previous unsuccessful attempt, Chelsea still wants to bring him back to the club where he trained in the academy.
Olise had an impressive season last year, scoring ten goals and providing six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances. He is one of the top wingers in Europe’s top five leagues with a goal-scoring rate of 0.64 per 90 minutes. He has also shown great creativity and defensive work rate on the pitch.
Chelsea values Olise at £60 million, but they are trying to determine the exact release clause in his contract. Manchester United is also interested in him as they look to strengthen their squad but financial constraints may hinder their ability to secure a deal as they only have £50 million available for transfers this summer.
The Blues, with their financial strength, are in a better position to sign Olise and are eager to finalize the deal before missing out on him again. They spent seven years training him at Chelsea’s Cobham academy before he moved on to other clubs and eventually joined Crystal Palace in 2021.
