Texas A&M Takes a 1-0 Lead in Game 2 Against Tennessee at College World Series

Texas A&M battles Tennessee in Game 2 of Men’s College World Series Finals at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska airing on ABC13

Currently, Game 2 between Texas A&M and Tennessee is underway on ABC13. The Aggies are looking to secure a win against the Volunteers in the second game of the 2024 Men’s College World Series Final on Sunday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. Following their 9-5 victory in Game 1 on Saturday night, the Aggies are determined to maintain their momentum and clinch their first baseball national title.

In the first inning of Game 1, Texas A&M outfielder Jace LaViolette hit a solo home run to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead over the Volunteers. However, in the seventh inning, Tennessee’s outfielder Dylan Dreiling responded with a two-run homer, putting the Volunteers ahead 2-1. Prior to Dreiling’s home run, Tennessee had struggled with a 0-7 record when there were runners in scoring position.

LaViolette is a Tompkins HS product and Katy native who has been instrumental in Texas A&M’s offensive success this season. He has hit .309 with nine home runs and 48 RBI for the Aggies. Meanwhile, Dreiling has been a key player for Tennessee as well, hitting .267 with five home runs and 37 RBI this season.
