Texas A&M Beats Out Auburn, Louisville and More to Secure Top-Rated Quarterback Prospect

Aggies Secure Commitment from Husan Longstreet, No. 5-ranked QB in 2025 Class

Texas A&M has landed a top-rated quarterback prospect from outside of its regional footprint as four-star Husan Longstreet announced his commitment to the Aggies on Sunday. He chose the Aggies over fellow finalists Auburn, Louisville, Ole Miss, and Oregon.

Longstreet is a product of Centennial High School in Corona, California, and ranks as the No. 28 player nationally and the No. 5 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. He visited Texas A&M for one of its junior day events in February, where he had the chance to spend time with first-year Aggies coach Mike Elko and his staff. Longstreet is now the sixth prospect to join Texas A&M’s 2025 haul and is a key piece for Elko as he navigates through his first full recruiting cycle with the Aggies.

Greg Biggins of 247Sports described Longstreet as having one of the strongest arms in the West, a quick release, and the ability to generate a ton of velocity with little effort. He also noted Longstreet’s improving athleticism and leadership qualities. With his evaluation by Biggins, there is an opportunity for Longstreet to climb even further up the rankings.

Elko was able to attract such a highly-touted quarterback by showing him what Texas A&M can offer beyond just being an in-state school. After excelling at Inglewood High School, Longstreet transferred to Centennial where he continued to shine both as a passer and runner before committing to Texas A&M.
