Tennessee’s standout player in the series was Dylan Dreiling, who earned the Most Outstanding Player award for his exceptional performance in Game 3. He also became the first player to hit a home run in all three games of the finals.
The Vols built an impressive lead early on in Game 3, but Texas A&M came back with a vengeance, scoring four runs in the final two innings to narrow the gap to just one run. In a tense finale, Tennessee’s closer Aaron Combs stepped up and struck out Ted Burton to secure the national title for the Volunteers.
