Tennessee Volunteers have secured a commitment from four-star defensive end Jayden Loftin, adding to their future prospects on the edge. Impressed by his experience, Loftin verbally committed to head coach Josh Heupel, defensive coordinator Tim Banks, defensive line coach Rodney Garner, and the rest of the Vols’ staff during an official visit over the weekend.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 250 pounds, Loftin currently attends Somerville High School in New Jersey. He is ranked as the No. 10 player in the state and the No. 26 weak-side defensive end in the 2025 class. Despite receiving an offer from Nebraska and visiting Wisconsin, Syracuse, and Penn State, Loftin ultimately chose to commit to Tennessee.
Known for his pass-rushing skills and ability to disrupt the run game with his quick first step, Loftin recorded impressive stats as a junior, including 5.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, one interception, and 33 total tackles. His contributions helped lead his team to a playoff appearance last season.
With Loftin’s commitment, Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class now boasts 11 committed prospects and ranks in the top 25 of national team rankings. He joins four-star defensive end Ethan Utley as part of the group, strengthening the Vols’ defensive line for the future.
