Jayden Loftin, a four-star edge rusher, commits to Tennessee football

The Tennessee football program has recently secured the commitment of four-star edge rusher Jayden Loftin from Somerville, New Jersey. Loftin, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 240 pounds, had offers from several top programs, including Wisconsin, Penn State, and Syracuse. However, he ultimately chose Tennessee.

Loftin is ranked as the No. 27 edge rusher and the No. 344 player overall in the 2025 class by 247Sports Composite. He is the 11th commitment in Tennessee’s highly talented 2025 class.

Under the leadership of head coach Josh Heupel and defensive line coach Rodney Garner, Tennessee has established a reputation for developing elite edge rushers. Previous signees such as James Pearce, Joshua Josephs, Caleb Herring, and Chandavian Bradley have gone on to have successful careers, with Pearce even projected as a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. With Loftin joining this group of talented edge rushers, Tennessee’s defensive line is set to be even stronger in the upcoming seasons.

By continuing to recruit top-tier talent like Loftin, Tennessee is positioning itself as a strong contender in college football. The program’s commitment to developing players and fostering a culture of excellence has proven to be successful, and fans can look forward to seeing Loftin and other recruits make an impact on the field in the coming years.
