Technip Energies’ innovative INO15 technology awarded in US floating offshore wind competition

Technip Energies has been recognized as one of the winners of the United States Department of Energy’s Phase Two FLoating Offshore Wind ReadINess (FLOWIN) prize for their innovative floater solution, INO15TM. This award is part of the FLOWIN initiative, which aims to promote the development and commercialization of floating offshore wind technology in US waters. The INO15TM is a three-column semi-submersible concept that can support a 15 MW wind turbine and can be scaled up to accommodate even larger wind turbines.

As a result of this achievement, Technip Energies will receive a cash prize of $450,000 along with $100,000 worth of technical support from the Department of Energy National Laboratories. This win also qualifies the company for the final Phase Three of the award, which will be announced in June 2025 and offers the opportunity to win an additional $900,000 prize. In addition to this new accolade, Technip Energies was among the nine $100,000 winners announced in March 2023 in collaboration with partners such as Crowley Wind Services, Anchor QEA, and Offshore Construction Associates.
