Team Finland Announces Roster for 2024 IIHF World Championship with Penguins Players Puustinen and Puljujarvi

Valtteri Puustinen and Jesse Puljujarvi selected for Team Finland in IIHF World Championship

Team Finland has announced the names of its forwards Valtteri Puustinen and Jesse Puljujarvi to represent the country at the 2024 IIHF World Championship, which will take place from May 10-26 in Prague and Ostrava, Czechia. Both players had successful seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Puustinen, 24, led Penguins rookies in goals, assists, and points during his 52-game season with Pittsburgh. He also had a strong showing with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the AHL, tallying 13 points in 24 games, including three points in two playoff games.

On the other hand, Puljujarvi joined the Penguins on a professional tryout in December 2023 before signing a two-year contract in February 2024. The forward played in 22 games with Pittsburgh and notched four points. He also had a productive stint with the WBS Penguins, totaling nine points in 13 games.

The preliminary round schedule for Team Finland at the World Championship has been released but broadcast information is yet to be announced at a later date.
