Dee Dee Taylor, the founder of Taylor Made Re-entry, is on a mission to improve the mental health of men and women in prisons. Her personal experiences, including the incarceration of her father and the death of her sister, Breonna Taylor, inspired her to take action and make a difference.
Taylor Made Re-entry is a nonprofit organization that partners with the Justice Department to bring mental health resources to incarcerated individuals in Genesee County Jail. The organization provides support and resources to people who are struggling with mental health issues while behind bars.
Percy Glover, who understands the challenges of maintaining mental health while incarcerated, supports Taylor in her mission. With his firsthand experience behind bars and Taylor’s personal experiences, they work together to provide the necessary resources and support to help people in jail improve their mental well-being.
Amyre Makupson, a proud Detroit native and graduate of Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, reported on this story. She highlights the importance of organizations like Taylor Made Re-entry that are working to address mental health issues in the criminal justice system.
