Taskin Ahmed’s Oversleeping: Bangladesh Cricket Team Left Without Fast Bowler Against India

Report: Experienced Bangladesh Fast Bowler Missed T20 World Cup Game Against India Due to Oversleeping

Bangladesh cricket team’s veteran fast bowler, Taskin Ahmed, was reportedly absent from the T20 World Cup 2024 match against India due to oversleeping. According to a report, Taskin was unable to be reached by the team management as he was asleep in his room and missed the team bus before the game. A team official had to stay back at the hotel in an attempt to contact Taskin, who later arrived at the venue. The coach, Chandika Hathurusingha, decided not to include Taskin in the playing XI for the match against India.

The decision not to play Taskin shocked fans and experts alike, as Bangladesh only went with Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Mustafizur Rahman as their fast bowlers for the game. Despite Taskin’s late arrival, Hathurusingha did not reveal any reasons for his exclusion from the playing XI. He clarified that if there were any issues between him and a player, it would not affect that player’s participation in future matches against Afghanistan.

Taskin apologized to his teammates for missing the bus and promised not to let it happen again. The matter was handled without making a big issue out of it. Meanwhile, India won the match against Bangladesh by 50 runs. Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Shivam Dube all contributed runs that helped secure a vital victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Hathurusingha has yet to comment on what led to Taskin’s absence from the squad. However, he will have plenty of time to reflect on this incident ahead of Bangladesh’s next match against Afghanistan in a few days’ time.

In conclusion, despite oversleeping and missing out on being part of Bangladesh’s starting lineup for their T20 World Cup match against India
