Nepal captain Rohit Paudel won the toss and chose to field first against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup match held at St. Vincent. Bangladesh, who were put into bat, knew that they had to secure a victory in order to advance to the Super Eights stage in Group 1 alongside Afghanistan, Australia, and India. On the other hand, a defeat would leave the door open for the Netherlands who needed to win their match against Sri Lanka and improve their run-rate over Bangladesh to advance.
