On Monday, Miss Sweet Potato Pie World held its grand opening at Marketplace Mall. The venue is focused on children’s entertainment and education. It is located near the mall’s east entrance and will host birthday parties, graduation celebrations, and other events.
The concept for this business was developed by Dianne Snowden-Johnson, a teacher at the Rochester City School District who has been entertaining as Miss Sweet Potato Pie at various events in town for over twenty years. The new venue will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Miss Sweet Potato Pie was present at the grand opening event, along with DJ music, food, and party favors. Children were able to enjoy face painting, balloon animals, and other fun activities while their parents shopped at the mall.
