Sweating to Success: CCISD’s Student-Built Sauna Auctions Raise Funds and Teach Important Skills

Second Sauna up for Auction at CCISD’s Construction Technology Program

The students from CCISD have come up with a unique way to raise funds for their construction technology program by building and auctioning off a student-built sauna during the recent National Sauna Week celebration in Hancock. This initiative not only helps raise money but also teaches students important construction and business skills.

Following the success of the first sauna auction, students are currently working on a second sauna that will be available for bidding until next week. The second sauna features a spacious interior with a 7-foot tall ceiling, black asphalt roofing, and Cedar paneling and benches. The minimum bid for this project starts at $9,500, and bids will be accepted by CCISD until Friday, May 24th.

Interested parties can place sealed bids by visiting Loret Roberts, Executive Secretary to the Superintendent, at the Copper Country ISD Superintendent’s Office on Hecla Street in Hancock. For any questions or more details about the process, please contact Loret Roberts at (906) 482-4250 ext 182. The winning bidder will be responsible for moving the sauna by the end of the day on Friday, May 31st.
