Swansea on the hunt for goalkeepers.

Swansea City is actively seeking goalkeepers for the upcoming season, with boss Luke Williams expressing optimism that the team will make a push for a play-off spot. The club is hoping to secure Rushworth on another season-long loan after his impressive performance in Wales during the 2023-24 season, but there are doubts about the possibility of another loan stint in the Championship for the England Under-21 international.

Williams emphasized that they are looking for a goalkeeper they truly believe in and are prepared to attract that individual to the club if possible. However, unforeseen circumstances could arise that might impact their plans, including the availability of Rushworth. With Rushworth potentially moving on, Swansea currently only has Andy Fisher and Nathan Broome as goalkeeping options in their squad.

Swansea’s head coach acknowledged that Rushworth will face stiff competition in pre-season training to prove he is ready for Premier League football with Brighton. The goalkeeper will have to vie for opportunities against a number of other contenders at Brighton, as well as any potential loan moves to other clubs like Ipswich Town.

Williams stated that Swansea City is actively seeking goalkeepers due to uncertainty surrounding the re-signing of Rushworth on loan. The club is exploring other options, with Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Lee Nicholls being linked to a move following their relegation to League One.
