Surviving Against All Odds: A Lone Wildebeest’s Intense Battle with Crocodiles in the Mara Triangle Reserve”.

During its river crossing, the antelope was ambushed by three crocodiles.

In the Mara Triangle reserve, a lone wildebeest faced an intense battle for survival as it crossed the Mara River. Despite being attacked by three crocodiles, the wildebeest managed to escape successfully. Luke Street, content and communications manager for tour company Wild Eye, captured this dramatic event at the Wild Eye Mara camp and shared the video footage on the Latest Sightings page on June 16.

The wildebeest was the last of over 300 individuals attempting to cross the river. As the crocodiles targeted it, the intensity of the situation rose. The closest crocodile swiftly lunged at the antelope, continuously attacking it in an attempt to quickly overpower its prey. However, due to the shallow water in that section of the river, the wildebeest was able to use its strong legs to stand up and resist the crocodile’s attempts to drag it underwater.
