The Ministry of Health is reporting a renewed increase in corona morbidity, with more seriously ill patients requiring ventilation. In recent months, 17 patients have died from the virus, and there has been a significant increase in new cases compared to the previous week. Currently, there are 706 confirmed corona patients in Israel, with 70 patients hospitalized, 14 of whom are in serious condition.

Amidst this surge in cases, two patients – a man in his 70s and a woman in their 60s – are hospitalized at Rambam Medical Center due to complications from the virus. The Ministry of Health notes that the trend of increasing morbidity is happening worldwide, with countries like Spain, the USA, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands reporting increases in hospitalizations and intensive care cases.

Prof. Cyril Cohen from Bar-Ilan University explains that there are new strains of the corona virus causing the increase in cases. He stresses the importance of continued testing, wearing masks, and avoiding contact with older people to reduce morbidity. With the corona virus appearing year-round
