Summer Nutrition Program for Kids: Nutrition Buddies at Trinity Health Ann Arbor

Program provides free education on healthy choices for children in Washtenaw County

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is offering a unique and exciting program this summer called Nutrition Buddies for children ages 11-13. This program aims to teach kids about cooking and nutrition through interactive in-person culinary classes with a medical resident physician buddy.

During the classes, participants will learn how to prepare nutritious foods using fresh produce from The Farm at Trinity Health, as well as receive a weekly produce box and cooking kit. The in-person classes will take place at the Trinity Health Ann Arbor Women’s Health Center in Ypsilanti from 5:30-7 p.m.

Parents can sign their children up for two different sessions: one in May and one in July. Children attending the July program will have the opportunity to attend one week of free farm camp in August, which promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Registration for Nutrition Buddies is now open, and interested parents can sign up for either the May session or the July session by emailing the Lifestyle Medicine team at lifestylemedicine@trinity-health.org with the subject line “Nutrition Buddies.” Don’t miss out on this great opportunity for children to learn about cooking and nutrition while having fun with their medical resident physician buddy!
