Recently, students in the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy’s Pharmapreneurship® pathway presented their business pitches to industry experts during an event known as Dolphin Tank. This capstone project served as the culmination of the year’s Pharmapreneurship Seminar coursework and allowed students to showcase their entrepreneurial ideas in a relaxed setting.
Throughout the year, students in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program learned about developing a business idea and taking it to market. The coursework covered topics such as market research, customer discovery, business planning, finances, patent laws, and application development. In the fall, students enrolled in the Pharmapreneurship pathway dove into the world of entrepreneurship and gained a deeper understanding of what it takes to start and grow a successful business in the pharmacy industry.
The Dolphin Tank event provided an opportunity for students to put their knowledge and skills to the test in front of experienced professionals. It was a unique learning experience that prepared them for future endeavors in the world of pharmacy entrepreneurship. Overall, the event allowed students to hone their business ideas and receive valuable feedback from industry experts.
